Gravel & Driveway Calculator
Estimate gravel quantity, tons, waste and an early delivered driveway budget.
How this calculator works
ProjectCost uses your measurements, quantity assumptions and editable unit prices to produce a first-pass planning estimate.
Why your final cost may differ
Site conditions, local labor, delivery, permits, access, material availability, project specifications and contractor scope can materially change an installed project price.
Keep planning
Combine this result with other scopes in the Project Planner.

Questions people ask before estimating
How deep should a gravel driveway be?
The required depth depends on soil, drainage, traffic and the base/surface design. Use the depth you actually plan to install rather than relying on a generic default.
How much gravel do I need?
The calculator converts length, width and depth into an estimated volume and then into tons using an approximate aggregate density and your ordering allowance. Actual tonnage varies with material.
Should I include delivery?
Yes. Delivery can be a meaningful part of a gravel project, especially when the supplier is far from the site or the order is split across loads.
Turn the estimate into a project budget
Use the Project Planner to keep site work, materials, labor and allowances visible as your scope changes.
